Swamp Records is a Gainesville local music promotion organization affiliated with the University of Florida. During my time there, we promoted local shows, represented local artists, and published social media posts to generate a sense of community amongst our followers (which were mostly other UF students). They often included inside jokes about UF culture, local artists, and student hotspots in Gainesville.
I primarily made graphics for the organization’s social media pages and Spotify page, which they frequently made playlists for.
This set of graphics was published on their Instagram page and was part of a “Swamp Affirmations” campaign: relatable and shareable one-liners meant for both Swamp Records members and UF students at large. The design of these is meant to be simple and replicable, with the all-caps text in a similar style as motivational quotes or memes, both of which are highly shared on social media.
Faith and Majesty was a musical duo Swamp Records represented, and were asked to come up with potential merchandise designs. This design, meant to be placed on a T-shirt or sweatshirt, calls back to one of the lyrics in their track, “Poison”. The black leaves and thorns are a balance of both elegance and danger, resembling a similar feeling to being in a tumultuous relationship, which is the song’s main theme.
Covers for various playlists the organization would publish on their Spotify page, with themes ranging from the energy of the music (feel-good, study, breakup) to specific holidays.
Lineups for local shows or festivals. We frequently collaborated with a venue named Heartwood Soundstage. These graphics would be distributed through flyers or digitally via Instagram stories.
A short video I created to reveal the lineup for a local music festival. It had a very “80s nostalgia” theme, so we decided to go with an arcade motif.
